Caroling at the Children's Home - December, 2007

Each year, just before Christmas, the Carson City Guide Dog Club visits the Eagle Valley Children’s Home with lots of holiday cheer.  Despite our singing of carols, the guide dog puppies always steal the show.  The pups use their special magic to bridge the gap of language and emotion.  Once again this year, the puppy's wet noses and soft fur made us all feel the real holiday spirit.  Certified therapy dogs Brewster and Jigsaw are pictured making a people connection and showing the guide dog puppies the true meaning of love.

Outing to Virginia City - October 13, 2007

The Carson City Guide Dog Club's annual visit to Virginia City, NV is a trip 150 years back in time.  In its heyday, Virginia City was one of the wealthiest towns in America.  Hundreds of millions of dollars worth of silver was mined and milled from the surrounding hills.

From riding the world famous Virginia & Truckee railroad to walking the wooden boardwalk of the town, guide dog puppies and raisers shared lots of different experiences.  One favorite experience is the visit to the Delta Saloon.  Patrons hardly took their eyes off the slot machines as the puppies walked by the infamous "suicide" table.  Of course, the wooden bear and the old fashion mechanical horse captured the attention of several young pups.  At the end of a busy morning, the guide dog puppies were certainly ready for a nap.
