Going on a outing to Virginia City, Nevada is like traveling back into time. Virginia City was the site of the famous Comstock Lode; one of the largest gold & silver strikes in the 19th century. The town has preserved much of its past: the saloons & stores, the churches and old
cemetery and a five mile train ride on the Virginia & Truckee railroad. All of this when combined with lots of very friendly people makes for a wonderful guide dog outing.

Morgan McKinney combines the old and the new. Amid the antiques of yesteryear, Morgan and guide dog puppy "Necco" look forward to a bright future. |
Resting at the final resting place for many of the Comstock miners and pioneers is a fitting end to a day of adventure and training. Many thanks to the wonderful people of Virginia City. You made all of our guide dog puppies feel right at home. |
Talk about antiques!
While spending the day exploring Virginia City, Kaley Perry and Yellow Lab "Porsche" and Meagan Magnuson and Golden Retriever "Bombay" decided to get dressed up for the
occasion.

For over fifty years, the Virginia & Truckee railroad transported the ore out of Virginia City and brought in the people and supplies. Puppies "Renna" and "Necco" are enjoying the ride. Their attention is focused on the bellowing of the steam engine. |
