Career Changed Puppies 1999

Bombay

Some days where meant for tears. Such a day was in early May 1999 when the phone message from Guide Dogs said that Bombay was being dropped because of poor hips. This was a fantastic puppy. She had the entire personality package. With her tail carried high and her air of self confidence, this was a puppy we though was destined to be a great guide. It was not to be. A great loss. Today, Bombay lives in the Carson Valley and is a wonderful pet.

Carnation

Another wonderful Golden from our group, Carnation was dropped June 1999 because of poor hips. She, too, was a confident puppy and so willing to please. The good news is the family who raised her wants her back. So in the nights to come, Carnation can probably be found resting her head next to Palmira, Caterina or Maria.

Laker

This buddle of exuberance is called Laker. At twelve weeks of age he is confident and very curious.

Porsche

This happy picture was taken the evening Kaley and Debbie got a first look at their new Porsche. No, their Porsche didn't have 4 on the floor in the normal sense. Their puppy had 4 big paws and big brown eyes with a wonderful smile that said he was one happy puppy. Kaley and Debbie will finish raising Porsche. They think the are really lucky to have gotten such a wonderful guy.

On this day, Porsche went to work at the Nevada Employment Securities Department. He fits in well at the office.

Woody

Achieving Phase 9 and considered class ready, Woody was dropped from the guide dog program after eight months in training. He has returned to live with the Sayles family. He will now become Dad's loyal canine companion.
